The Best Way To Cook Bacon

I think we can all agree that cooking bacon on the stove top is scary and intimidating. It’s loud and way to easy to get burned by the hot grease splatter. However there is a much easier way to cook bacon and I feel so blessed because of it!

Now, I definitely didn’t create this method of cooking bacon in the oven so I can’t take any credit! My Uncle is actually the one that showed me how much better and easier making bacon in the oven is. And I’m sure that he learned it from someone else, this is simply how I’ve tailored the method to make it really work for me!

Classic Bacon Ingredients + Tools:

  • 8 slices of Bacon, preferably thick sliced
  • Sheet pan
  • Aluminium foil

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 400.
  2. Line a sheet pan with aluminium foil and layer the bacon on top leaving a little room between each slice.
  3. Cook bacon without opening oven door for 10 minutes. Then cook bacon in 2-3 minute intervals till it reaches your desired doneness. I usually do about 16-17 minutes in my oven!
  4. When your bacon is cooked how you like it remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Then transfer to a plate lined with a dish towel or a paper towel and cover with another towel. This absorbs excess grease from the bacon.
  5. Allow to cool and firm up for a few more minutes.
  6. Enjoy!!
