Rice Krispies Treats is a snack loved by many, children and adults alike! Chewy yet krispy, sweet but not too sweet, simple but oh so delicious. If you love the classic snack you have to try these Chocolate Hazelnut Rice Krispies!
What’s also really nice about Rice Krispies is they are so easy and affordable to make! They only require a few ingredients and don’t require a lot of time! Just like my Homemade Caramel Corn, these treats are perfect for handing out at work or to friends and family as Christmas + Holiday gifts!
When I make these around the holidays I love to use my Christmas themed cookie cutters to make them into festive shapes! All I do is cut them out right in my 9 x 13 pan, gather the excess and flatten it out again until I can no longer get any shapes out of the mix. Then I just store and keep whatever is left and have it as a snack!
Ingredients + Tools:
- 6 cups rice krispies cereal
- About 16 oz marshmallows
- Entire package of chocolate hazelnut Oreo’s
- 4 tablespoons butter
- Nonstick spray
- Large microwave safe mixing bowl
- 9 x 13 pan
- Cookie Cutters ( optional )
Directions:
- Using a food processor or large Ziplock bag break up all the Oreo cookies into small pieces.
- Add your marshmallows and butter to the large bowl and microwave until marshmallows are puffy and easily mixed. About 2 minutes.
- In stages add the Oreo cookie crumbles and rice krispies. Stirring thoroughly in between until all the cereal and crumbles are worked into the marshmallow.
- Spray a little nonstick cooking spray on the 9 x 13. Then press the rice krispies into the pan, spreading it out as evenly as possible.
- Either cut into squares and leave in the pan or cut them into shapes using cookie cutters! For this I used Christmas themed cookie cutters!
