My Refreshing Vanilla Cherry Smoothie is the perfect sweet treat on a hot summer’s day.
Many of us turn to ice cream to try to beat the heat. However, as delicious and satisfying as ice cream is, many of us don’t want to be eating it too much of it. So on most days I like to turn to smoothies instead of ice cream! It gives me the sweet, creamy, ice cold experience I’m looking for with less calories! This recipe ends up making approximately four cups of smoothie. So it can be portioned out as two large smoothies or as three or four smaller smoothies!
Ingredients:
- 1 ripe banana, peeled and frozen
- 1 cup cherries and berries frozen fruit blend
- 1 scoop vanilla protein powder
- 2 cups of your choice of milk, I’m using almond milk
Directions:
- Begin to add your ingredients to your blender. I like to go in this order. Milk, protein powder, then frozen fruit!
- Make sure that the lid to your blender is properly secured and blend for 30 second intervals till the smoothie reaches your desired consistency.
- Portion out the smoothie and add toppings if you’d like!
- Enjoy your Refreshing Vanilla Cherry Smoothie!
Notes:
- Perfect to have with breakfast or as a snack during the day!
- Fresh fruit, granola, old fashioned oats and chia seeds are all great options for toppings!
- I use Good & Gather Cherries and Berries Frozen Blend, it’s inexpensive and high quality!
- I’ve been using Orgain Vanilla Bean Protein Powder and I love it! What’s your favorite protein powder?
- Need an appetizer for Father’s Day? My Make It Ahead Feta Dip is light, creamy and healthier!
