Upside Down Catfish, scientifically known as Synodontis nigriventris, are peaceful, schooling fish characterized by their unique upside-down swimming behavior
Native to the Congo and Niger River basins in Africa, they are a smaller species, typically reaching around 4 inches in length
They have a mottled brown and black coloration and are known for their ability to scavenge for food, including algae, on the underside of leaves and other surfaces, which they achieve by swimming upside down
