The only shade in our range built on neither henna nor indigo. The colour here comes from turmeric — a different pigment entirely, working a different way.

That means no green stage and no waiting. Curcumin is already coloured when it goes on, unlike indigo, which arrives colourless and has to oxidize over days. What you see when you rinse is essentially what you keep.

It also means a shorter life. Curcumin is not light-stable — this shade fades faster in sunlight than anything else we make. We'd rather tell you that up front.

What " organic" means here

Not 99%, not 99.9% — every herb in the pouch is organic, and there is no base powder or carrier underneath them. Each shade is vacuum-sealed to slow oxidation before you open it, and shipped by air from our production facility in India so newer stock reaches you.

Sun Blonde is a vibrant, sunlit yellow-blonde inspired by natural golden light. It brings warmth and brightness while keeping a soft, botanical finish — a playful shade for anyone drawn to a bold tone but wanting a plant-based route to it.

How this shade works differently

Every other colour we make is built on henna, indigo, or both. Henna's pigment bonds covalently to keratin; indigo's arrives colourless and forms in place over days. Sun Blonde uses neither.

Turmeric's curcumin is a bright yellow that binds readily to keratin and is already coloured going on. Simpler in one way — no oxidation window, no green stage, no three-day wait. And harder in another: curcumin is not light-stable, so this shade fades faster than the rest of our range.

There are also two herbs here that appear in no other shade: reetha and shikakai, both traditional cleansers. A pale tone needs a clean fibre to land on, and the mix does some of that work itself.

Two things to know before you start

Turmeric stains. Skin, nails, fabric, surfaces. This is the only shade we make where that is a concern — wear the gloves supplied, use an old towel, and wipe splashes rather than letting them sit. Staining on skin fades within a day or two.

Sunlight fades it. Curcumin is not light-stable; that is a property of the compound rather than anything about the formulation. If you are outdoors a lot, a hat or a UV-protective product will meaningfully extend how long this shade holds.

Portion the powder by hair length:

This shade depends more on its starting base than most, and it behaves differently from the rest of our range. First-time customers who don't get the result they expected can have a different shade sent , or a full refund on the colour.
